Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus defeated Belgium's Oliver Rochus 6-1, 7-5 on Sunday at the Stockholm Open on Sunday to win his first ATP title in more than two years.

The 2006 Australian Open runner-up continued a re-building campaign after his ranking sank out of the Top 100 in recent seasons due to bad luck with injuries.

The number 66 claimed his last trophy at the elite level in Zagreb in early 2007. He was defeated in Marseille and Halle, Germany, that same year.

The popular Cypriot will lift his 66th ranking as he looks ahead to the 2010 season with three more weeks to play in the current campaign.

The win was the 23rd this season for Baghdatis, who had won three Challenger titles since August coming into Stockholm.
