When the 2010 showpiece kicks off in South Africa, the Danes will be undoubtedly carrying the underdog tag, historically a tag they appear to thrive on. Their shock Euro 1992 triumph is testament to this.

Coach: Morten Olsen
Tasked with guiding Denmark to World Cup glory, a former national player himself, Olsen took over the reigns from Swedish coach Bo Johansson in 2000. Olsen's football philosophy is orientated towards the offensive, a policy which has served him well as he boasts the best record of any national coach in the history of Danish football. Olsen favours a 4-3-3 system utilizing the pace of Dennis Rommedahl, Gronkjaer and Martin J?rgensen at his disposal to support the lone striker.
Captain: Jon Dahl Tomasson
The Danes will be captained by veteran Jon Dahl Tomasson. The former AC Milan and Feyenoord forward has been in the national side for over a decade, making over 100 appearances bringing an abundance of experience at international level. The Danes will count on his strength and goal-poaching ability in, and around, the 18-yard area as the spearhead of the Danish attack.
